Untangling Ourselves
Stories about how we change
About

This podcast shares stories about non-coercive change: how joy, curiosity, community, and a sense of purpose lead to untangling how we live our lives and who we think we are.

It's not just seeing what's wrong that leads to sustainable shifts--but seeing what's right.

Background

Hosted by Kaitlin. I'm a white cis woman, unschooling parent, community organizer, social media admin, and former academic. As an academic I studied English, Native American studies, Queer theory, and Feminist theory. I now spend most of my time parenting, managing communications for multiple grassroots communities, and helping organize crowd-sourced information about unschooling, disability, and neurodivergence for Unschooling Every Family.

Unschooling forced me to question so many "shoulds" and biases. The deschooling process led to unlearning ableism via the work of Autsitic self-advocates, which led to setting boundaries and then recognizing abusive family systems. This process changed my life dramatically. With the help of illustrator Kerry Vineberg, I tell that story of change in a short comic memoir published by Mutha Magazine.

With this podcast, I want to share other people's stories about what changed their lives.
